Production Planner - Scheduler

About the Role

We are hiring a Production Planner & Scheduler for a reputed New Zealand-owned engineering manufacturer located in Bay of Plenty. This company specializes in precision-machined components and high-performance engineered products for a variety of industrial sectors. This role is integral to managing manufacturing operations serving customers throughout New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate workload and plan schedules across multiple machining operations.
• Balance available production capacity against customer order deadlines.
• Oversee material requirements and arrange timely deliveries from suppliers.
• Maintain and regularly update ERP system planning data.
• Track production status and modify schedules to cope with changes.
• Identify and resolve any bottlenecks or workflow issues.
• Effectively communicate priorities, lead times, and scheduling changes throughout the business.
• Support initiatives aimed at continuous improvement and boosting operational efficiency.

Candidate Profile

Ideal applicants will have experience within manufacturing settings and a solid understanding of production workflows. Suitable backgrounds include production or manufacturing planning, scheduling, materials planning, maintenance planning, production or workshop supervision. Experience in engineering manufacturing, machining, fabrication, precision manufacturing, or plastics industries is highly favorable.

Desirable skills and attributes include:

• Hands-on experience in production planning or scheduling.
• Comprehension of manufacturing processes and machine capacity planning.
• Familiarity with ERP, MRP, or related manufacturing software systems.
