Role Overview

The Product Owner plays a critical role as the operational engine translating strategic product goals into detailed, build-ready tasks for engineering teams. Collaborating closely with internal partners, you will translate objectives and customer expectations into clear requirements and orchestrate the coordinated efforts of development teams.

You will guide the reduction of uncertainty, facilitate informed decision-making, and ensure that each product release is clearly defined, of high quality, and anchored in authentic athletic use scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

• Comprehend the integration of hardware, software, and systemic components that produce reliable end-to-end product performance.
• Identify potential integration challenges early and collaborate with research and development teams to navigate system dependencies.
• Reflect realistic assumptions, requirements, and constraints within complex layered product architectures.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to grasp feature objectives, prioritize product needs, and assemble clear requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Maintain an organized backlog to facilitate accurate planning and confident delivery.
• Oversee implementation coordination across engineering units, ensuring alignment of multi-layered product interactions.
• Monitor progress, identify dependencies and timelines, and proactively escalate risks.
• Act as the primary clarity source within research and development teams, enabling smooth transition and understanding between teams.
• Support system integration by aligning expected behaviors, data exchanges, and assumptions.
• Define validation standards, partner with quality assurance on release readiness and issue resolution, and support field or internal testing to validate performance and stability.
• Communicate progress, risks, and release feasibility effectively to internal stakeholders to manage expectations.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation capturing requirements, decisions, dependencies, and release notes with precision.
• Promote improvements in planning, coordination, and development workflows by establishing repeatable processes for requirement management and product readiness.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years experience in product ownership, technical program management, systems coordination, or related roles focused on delivery.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or technical equivalent; Master’s degree considered advantageous.
• Proven ability to dissect product strategies into actionable, clear requirements.
• Experience working alongside engineering and quality assurance teams on products involving a blend of hardware, software, and system integration.
• Skilled in cross-functional collaboration with a strong capability to resolve ambiguities and handle multiple workstreams concurrently.
• Outstanding documentation and communication skills characterized by clarity, structure, and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated high ownership and persistence in fast-changing environments.
• An interest in sports technology or performance analytics is beneficial.
