Job description

About the Role

At Lexware, we believe that security is truly effective only when it seamlessly integrates into people's everyday lives. We aim to create products that protect users without adding complexity. Are you passionate about solving customer challenges and building products that deliver genuine value? Join us and help shape the future!

Our Lexware Office software supports over 450,000 small businesses across Germany, and the number is growing daily. As a Product Owner focusing on Security Experience, you will oversee secure and simple access management for our products, ensuring entrepreneurial company data remains well protected. Working closely with your cross-functional Scrum team, you will transform ideas into solutions that delight our users.

Work Environment

Our office in Freiburg im Breisgau serves as an ideal space for collaboration and creativity. We meet regularly in person at least once a week, and you should be flexible enough to come onsite as needed, especially when priorities change rapidly. At the same time, remote work is supported for tasks requiring greater concentration, allowing you to balance focus and teamwork effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulating and owning the product vision and roadmap to optimally safeguard our customers' business data.
  • Converting market and customer needs into clear epics, stories, and backlog items.
  • Engaging frequently with customers to understand their needs and derive compelling features, prioritizing transparently based on customer benefit, business value, and technical effort.
  • Collaborating in a cross-functional Scrum team with developers, UX designers, and Scrum Master, advancing both discovery and delivery phases.
  • Leveraging data, customer feedback, user testing, and AI-powered tools to make informed decisions and continuously improve your product area.
  • Acting as an empathetic mediator to bridge stakeholders across various disciplines, using excellent communication skills to maintain customer focus amid complexity.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience with web-based SaaS products in account security, identification, and access management.
  • Strong affinity for software development and comprehensive understanding of the full development lifecycle.
  • Capability to balance conflicting requirements such as ease of use versus security through thoughtful trade-offs.
  • Enthusiasm for actively shaping processes within a dynamic and growing agile environment.
  • Several years of work as a Product Owner within Scrum-based agile structures, comfortable communicating and translating across stakeholder levels.
  • Fluent German language skills (minimum C2 level) since our team language is German.

Recruitment and Team

We follow a team-based recruiting approach; the interviews will be conducted by our team who are eager to meet you:

  • Alexander, Daniel, Marco, and Nicole – the development team, united by enthusiasm, creativity, and technical curiosity.
  • Stefanie – our UI/UX designer with a sharp user focus ensuring an excellent user experience.
  • Janika – Scrum Master who prioritizes creativity, collaboration, and team spirit.
  • Christian, your predecessor, will focus more on cross-team collaboration and support your onboarding.
