Role Overview and Responsibilities
- Manage procurement spend totaling $50 million across co-packing categories, distribution partnerships, new category assessment and implementation, covering GCC countries (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar), international markets, and collaborate with the Global procurement team.
- Assist in shaping short-term, medium-term, and long-term commercial strategies for regional and global operations.
- Engage with key stakeholders and suppliers to craft and execute category strategies that align with business goals, ensuring service quality and optimizing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) sustainably.
- Lead supplier negotiations anchored in data analysis, including internal and external benchmarks, market trends, and supplier pricing models to fulfill category objectives.
- Proactively identify new business potentials, suggest process enhancements, and uncover cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare and manage annual budgets and monthly forecasts related to cash flow, purchase price variance, and other financial indicators for assigned categories.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
- Professional certification such as MCIPS or equivalent is preferred.
- Proficiency in English required; Arabic language skills are advantageous but not mandatory.
- At least 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, indirect procurement, or supply chain management within the food industry.
- Skilled in negotiating complex service contracts and managing sourcing across multiple indirect categories.
- Proven experience with RFI, RFP, RFQ processes, including development, evaluation, negotiation, execution, and contract administration.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Understanding of legal aspects, contractual frameworks, and negotiation strategies for complex agreements.
- Familiarity with procurement software/systems such as SAP, ARIBA, and COUPA; capable of analyzing supplier performance metrics and KPIs.
