Job description
Overview
We are seeking an experienced and methodical Procurement & Inventory Officer to join our dynamic operations team in Doha, Qatar. This pivotal position will manage the procurement and inventory activities across satellite kitchens of a rapidly expanding business operating in multiple markets.
You will ensure that essential ingredients, packaging materials, and consumables are available promptly, maintain precise stock records, control purchasing costs, and contribute to seamless kitchen operations daily.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, negotiate with, and place orders to approved suppliers for all kitchen needs including ingredients and consumables.
- Manage ongoing supplier relationships by monitoring orders, delivery status, quality issues, and supply shortages.
- Keep procurement spending within budget, flagging any unusual costs or purchasing patterns promptly.
- Oversee regular inventory checks, ensuring stock counts match system records accurately.
- Establish and monitor par stock levels, adjusting as per production demands and order volumes.
- Enforce FIFO (First In, First Out) system for perishables and dry goods to reduce wastage.
- Coordinate order accepting, production scheduling, and delivery activities in partnership with kitchen staff.
- Maintain comprehensive kitchen administrative documentation including goods received notes, supplier invoices, and stock logs.
- Work closely with the Packing & Dispatch team to synchronize stock availability with daily order requirements.
- Ensure the storage and administrative areas stay orderly, clean, and efficient.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- 3-4 years practical experience in procurement, inventory control, purchasing, or kitchen administration roles.
- Preferably experienced in food production, hospitality, restaurants, or other fast-paced operational settings.
- Proven capability in supplier management, purchasing negotiation, and order processing.
- Comfortable handling supplier negotiations around pricing, quality, availability, and delivery schedules.
- Strong inventory expertise including accurate stock taking, reconciliation, restocking, and implementing FIFO protocols.
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping.
- Familiarity with inventory management software, spreadsheets, or equivalent administrative tools.
- Good understanding of procurement budgeting, costing controls, and identifying cost anomalies.
- Ability to forecast stock needs and manage replenishment preemptively.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate internally with teams and externally with suppliers.
- Consistently maintains accurate administrative records and completes required paperwork timely.
