Job description

Job Overview

Join International Water Distribution Co. in Riyadh as a Process Engineer focused on managing and optimizing biological wastewater treatment processes, primarily to ensure effluent compliance and plant performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor the performance of biological treatment systems, recommending appropriate operating setpoints and process adjustments.
  • Analyze influent variability, laboratory results, process trends, and SCADA data for maintaining effluent quality standards.
  • Assist with stabilization, troubleshooting, biological testing, and performance optimization of Fixed Bed Continuous Reactor (FCR) systems.
  • Coordinate technical issues and training related to FCR technology with the Technology Provider during project mobilization and handover.
  • Support root-cause investigations and develop corrective action plans to address process upsets or performance deviations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in biological wastewater process engineering and optimization is highly desired.
  • Experience with attached-growth or fixed-bed biological treatment systems is advantageous; specific FCR experience or willingness to undergo project-specific training is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting process, laboratory, and SCADA data trends are essential; competency will be validated during training and deployment.

Training and Compliance

  • Completion of project induction and relevant safety and emergency training is required prior to independent operation.
  • Participation in system-specific training, including FCR, SCADA, and major plant equipment during handover, is mandatory.
  • Maintain all required certifications and training documentation; partake in annual refresher sessions and cross-training programs.
  • Be incorporated into the project’s competency matrix, ensuring up-to-date training, certifications, and cross-training status throughout assignment.
