Principal Process Engineer

As a Principal Process Engineer, you will provide expert process engineering services for large-scale projects, offering technical guidance and supervision within the process engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage process engineering services that comply with Worley's standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements while adhering to schedules and budget constraints.
• Oversee all process engineering project needs, ensuring clear scope and managing changes through formal change management protocols.
• Participate actively in meetings, develop progress reports, and follow required checking and quality procedures.
• Provide advisory support throughout procurement, construction, and commissioning phases, including overseeing requisitions, evaluating technical bids, and preparing purchase orders.
• Serve as the lead process engineer on designated projects.
• If supervising a team, define project requirements, encourage collaborative workshare, assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure deliverables meet quality, time, and budget goals.
• Address and reconcile any discrepancies between Worley and client requirements proactively.
• Keep current with technological advancements and innovations in process engineering.
• Mentor and support junior process engineering staff as needed.
• Maintain clear communication channels with the process engineering team and all project stakeholders, including clients.
• Identify issues, devise appropriate solutions, and seek assistance as necessary.

Quality Assurance and Safety

• Operate within established Quality Assurance guidelines and systems.
• Uphold personal safety and comply with Occupational Health & Safety policies.
• Implement health, safety, and environmental considerations in the design process with an emphasis on process safety and best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a full-time Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Hold Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) engineering accreditation; if not currently accredited, candidates must be willing to obtain this during the probation period.
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status is advantageous or currently in progress.
• Extensive senior-level experience within the Oil & Gas industry, with at least the last five years leading process engineering teams and design efforts.
• Strong technical, practical, and leadership credentials with experience managing multi-disciplinary projects and teams.

Technical Skills

• Proficient with simulation software such as Aspen suite, Hysys, Pipesys, FlareNet, and PRO-II.
• Experienced in flow assurance tools including PipeNet, Pipesim, PVTSim/OLGA, PipePhase, TLNET, and Fathom.
