Role Overview

As a Principal Applied Scientist, you will spearhead research and development in AI domains such as computer vision, natural language processing, and audio signal processing. Your position involves creating and refining advanced AI algorithms and deep learning models for semantic understanding, multidimensional data interpretation, and human-machine interactions. The technologies you develop will be applied across critical sectors including finance, oil and gas, environmental sciences, and healthcare, driving innovation that makes meaningful real-world contributions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and optimize cutting-edge AI algorithms and models, keeping abreast of emerging trends and handling complex data sets to develop innovative, applicable solutions.
• Develop integrated multi-modal AI systems leveraging text, audio, and visual inputs to improve nuanced understanding of human interactions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with researchers and engineers to design, enhance, and optimize AI algorithm implementations emphasizing efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
• Work with product teams to embed new AI technologies into products and conduct proofs of concept tailored to client requirements, ensuring practical applicability.
• Identify opportunities where AI can enhance clients’ business efficiency.
• Provide technical support during pre-sales and post-sales phases to assist the business development team.

• Achievement of cost savings through AI implementations
• Number of AI use cases explored and datasets analyzed
• Quantity of innovative proofs of concept and deployments achieved

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or AI-related field with specialization preferred in Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, or Speech and Audio.
• At least 10 years’ experience developing AI algorithms across multiple modalities.
• Demonstrated history of advanced research, evidenced by peer-reviewed publications or a substantial product-focused R&D portfolio.
