Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance inspections to detect signs of wear.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and help with necessary repairs.
- Review and evaluate farm facilities, machinery, and infrastructure for safety and regulatory compliance.
- Complete pre-operation checks on farm machinery before daily use.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance work, repairs, and servicing activities.
- Perform minor fixes, adjustments, and component replacements on equipment such as feeding systems, ventilation units, and machinery to avoid operational interruptions.
- Ensure strict compliance with animal welfare standards and biosecurity measures at all times.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a maintenance capacity is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
- Capability in maintaining accurate documentation and supporting data analysis for farm operations.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with colleagues, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Ability to operate independently or as part of a team.
- Applicants must not have poultry, birds, or pigs at home or regular contact with these animals due to biosecurity protocols.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Australia.
