Job Overview
This role involves maintaining cleanliness and safety across all warehouse areas, with special concentration on eliminating any hazards involving liquids or other substances. The porter is accountable for daily verification of sanitation and cleaning logs, ensuring cleaning equipment complies with the HACCP program standards. Additional duties may be assigned by branch management, including minor facility upkeep tasks.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform sweeping inside and outside the building premises.
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of all restrooms within the facility.
- Clean windows, doors, and coffee areas as required.
- Manage trash containers throughout the premises.
- Operate machinery such as trash compactors, cardboard balers, and floor scrubbers as needed.
- Address and clean any warehouse spills promptly.
- Maintain employee break room cleanliness on a scheduled basis.
- Assist department managers with aisle cleaning tasks.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP sanitation guidelines and verify sanitation logs daily.
- Support management with additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Effective communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of sanitation practices.
- Familiarity with operating floor machines, balers, and compactors is an advantage.
- Physical capability to lift weights up to 50 pounds.
