Job Overview

The Porter at Jetro Restaurant Depot is tasked with maintaining cleanliness and safety across the warehouse premises, ensuring a safe environment for both customers and staff. This role includes monitoring and managing hazards such as spills and other substances, and keeping detailed Sanitation and Cleaning Logs up-to-date in compliance with company HACCP standards. Additionally, the porter is responsible for maintaining the functionality of cleaning equipment according to company policies and may handle various maintenance duties delegated by the branch manager, including minor painting, cleaning of wet pallets, and lighting upkeep.

Key Duties

• Sweep all areas inside and outside the building to uphold cleanliness.
• Perform regular cleaning and upkeep of all restroom facilities within the warehouse.
• Clean windows, doors, and coffee areas when necessary.
• Manage all trash containers and ensure proper disposal.
• Operate equipment such as the trash compactor, cardboard baler, and floor scrubbing machine when needed.
• Clean up any spills promptly to prevent hazards.
• Maintain cleanliness in employee break rooms as per schedule.
• Support department managers with aisle cleaning duties as required.
• Verify that all sanitation protocols and HACCP guidelines are followed and documented correctly in logs.
• Carry out additional tasks assigned by management related to facility maintenance or operations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Effective communication abilities.
• Basic knowledge of sanitation standards and best practices.
• Familiarity with operating floor scrubbers, balers, and compactors is advantageous.
• Physical capability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
