Job description

Overview

Legrand's Starline division is seeking a skilled Assembler for its Data, Power, Control team based in Singapore. This role involves assembling a variety of mechanical and basic electrical components used in electrical distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret shop drawings and wiring schematics to understand assembly requirements.
  • Consult Bills of Materials to identify parts and assembly order for electromechanical units.
  • Perform electrical connections accurately following defined specifications.
  • Assemble components using hand, power, and pneumatic tools ensuring proper alignment and fastening.
  • Modify components when necessary by drilling, tapping, or countersinking.
  • Measure components precisely using tape measures, micrometers, and calipers to meet tolerance specifications.
  • Label parts and mark them with necessary identification details.
  • Follow all company policies and values including adherence to SECRIT principles.

Additional Duties

  • Participate in cross-training in other plant departments to support versatile operations.
  • Carry out other management-assigned tasks as required.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proficient in selecting appropriate tools and equipment for specific tasks.
  • Good listening skills to comprehend spoken information and instructions.
  • Capability to operate cordless, power, and pneumatic tools effectively.
  • Preferred ability to read shop drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to use standard tape measures accurately.
  • Strong team collaboration skills.

Minimum Requirements

  • Completed Level/A Level, ITE, High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferably one year of experience in manufacturing.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

  • Able to lift and carry weights up to 75 lbs occasionally, and 25 lbs frequently.
  • High finger dexterity for precise manipulation of small components.
  • Manual dexterity to handle assembly tasks efficiently.
  • Steady arm and hand control to maintain position during work.
  • Near vision acuity and ability to distinguish wire color differences.
