Role Overview
The Payroll Specialist position involves comprehensive management of the hospital's payroll processes. This full-time, on-site role based in Kolkata entails responsibilities such as collecting and validating attendance data, calculating remuneration including overtime and benefits, and ensuring prompt salary payment. The specialist will administer statutory deductions, payroll taxes, and garnishments, and liaise with third-party payroll services or software when required.
Daily duties include maintaining accurate payroll documentation, reconciling payroll accounts, addressing employee payroll queries, and generating payroll reports for organizational use. Coordination with HR and finance departments is critical to comply with labor laws and internal policies, while safeguarding payroll confidentiality and data security.
Qualifications and Skills
- Extensive experience in comprehensive payroll processing and administration.
- Good understanding of payroll taxation, statutory deductions, and adherence to labor regulations.
- Experience managing garnishments and working with payroll software or external payroll services.
- Ability to maintain meticulous records, analyze payroll data, and create accurate reports for audits and management review.
- Educational background in finance, accounting, business administration, or related discipline.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and payroll/HRIS systems, coupled with strong numerical and analytical abilities.
- High ethical standards, attention to detail, and strong commitment to confidentiality when handling employee payroll data.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with HR, finance, and clinical departments.
