We invite passionate candidates to apply for the position of Payroll Officer located in Umhlanga, Durban.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process payroll transactions, ensuring all data is authorized, recorded, and documented, including verification of inputs from time and attendance officers.
- Validate financial details on employees' payslips during new engagements, such as allowances, deductions, company contributions, and fringe benefits.
- Manage global transfers by updating payroll and tax profiles correctly and ensuring movements reflect salary changes, promotions, or additional allowances.
- Handle terminations by including final payouts and recovering outstanding deductions in the termination payroll run.
- Execute custom payroll system forms for engagements, changes, and terminations to guarantee thorough checks.
- Track integration errors, quality issues, or missed deadlines using the Quality Alert Tracker on MS Teams and ensure timely resolution.
- Load all deductions like Acknowledgement of Debt and loans promptly, and process ad hoc payments such as claims or out-of-cycle payments swiftly.
- Oversee processing and approval of employee change requests and claims in payroll.
- Monitor the Payroll Shared Mailbox to address integration notifications, payslip queries, and other payroll-related requests.
- Confirm payroll completeness by ensuring all employees and relevant changes or leaves are registered appropriately with requisite validations.
- Prepare consolidated salary documentation and review it before forwarding for managerial approval.
- Generate final monthly payroll packages and reports within set deadlines.
- Obtain necessary managerial authorization for salary spreadsheets and validate payroll balances across all pay runs.
- Ensure timely payment of salaries, provident fund contributions, statutory payments, and other payroll-related disbursements.
- Maintain payroll records, prepare reports, analyses, summaries, journal entries, statutory submissions, and reconciliations, including provident fund reconciliations.
- Offer accounting assistance to the Finance Team.
- Address and resolve all internal customer payroll inquiries within 24 hours, utilizing trained customer service approaches.
- Adhere strictly to daily, weekly, and monthly payroll deadlines.
- Stay informed about changes within the Payroll department and uphold the Hollywood Group's values and confidentiality standards.
- Perform general administrative duties and additional ad hoc tasks as assigned.
Skills and Attributes Required
- Minimum five years’ experience in a payroll-related role.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Strong time management skills.
