Payroll Implementation Consultant

About the Role

The Payroll Implementation Consultant will take charge of deploying payroll solutions for various clients. This includes system setup, handling payroll data migration, performing tests, conducting training sessions, and guiding clients through successful go-live and ongoing support phases. The position blends expertise in payroll with consulting, project execution, training, and client relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support projects related to payroll system implementation.
• Engage with clients to gather requirements and assess existing processes.
• Customize payroll systems in alignment with client needs and legislation.
• Import and verify payroll data accuracy and consistency.
• Perform testing, validate payroll processing, and execute parallel runs.
• Analyze and address payroll discrepancies and system issues.
• Train payroll administrators, HR, finance personnel, and end users.
• Create comprehensive implementation manuals, process documentation, and training resources.
• Offer ongoing assistance and troubleshoot issues after system go-live.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Consultants, and clients during project delivery.
• Support payroll compliance and provide recommendations for best practices.
• Serve clients located in Zambia and South Africa regions.

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Payroll, HR, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
• At least three years of experience in payroll administration, consulting, implementation, or related roles.
• Hands-on experience working with payroll platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of payroll processes and statutory deductions.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong interpersonal and client-facing communication skills.
• Capability to juggle several assignments and projects concurrently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Dynamics Payroll software.
• Familiarity with payroll systems such as Sage Payroll, VIP Payroll, Payspace, SimplePay, SAP Payroll, Oracle Payroll, or similar.
• Background in executing payroll implementations or migrations.
• Experience servicing clients across diverse industries.
• Exposure to payroll operations in Zambia and/or South Africa.
• Project implementation background.
