About the Role and Organization
As a Payroll Coordinator at a leading Canadian professional services firm, you will manage payroll operations for approximately 2,000 employees located across multiple jurisdictions in Canada. This permanent position operates on a hybrid work model and entails handling end-to-end payroll processing, resolving payroll issues, and coordinating payroll reporting and remittances.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete payroll processing cycle accurately and punctually.
- Handle payroll case management and resolve associated queries.
- Calculate gross to net pay components and ensure payroll balances.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including Talent, Legal, and Benefits providers to investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Prepare and remit payroll deductions as required by legal regulations.
- Conduct year-end payroll activities efficiently.
Team and Work Environment
You will be part of a dedicated eight-member administrative team accountable for the national payroll administration. This role supports all employees and lines of business by ensuring payroll accuracy and timely service delivery.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a large, multi-jurisdictional payroll function.
- Superior written and verbal communication capabilities.
- Certification status with the Canadian Payroll Association, either attained or in progress.
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- French-English bilingual proficiency is advantageous due to interactions with national and global clients.
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft payroll software is a significant plus.
Compensation and Benefits
The role offers a salary ranging from CAD 47,000 to CAD 78,000 annually, with eligibility for performance bonuses.
