Position Overview
Based at the Corporate Office in North Bay, Ontario, the Payroll Administrator role is a full-time position that features a hybrid working schedule. Employees may work remotely on Mondays and Fridays, with in-office days from Tuesday through Thursday. This role is aimed at ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing within Cementation Americas, a leading underground mine contracting and engineering firm known for its commitment to safety, innovation, and employee development.

Payroll Responsibilities
- Gather, authenticate, and manage payroll timesheet data.
- Work closely with the Human Resources team to correctly input and update all employee-related payroll information.
- Execute semi-monthly payrolls for both hourly and salaried workers, encompassing tasks such as pay rate adjustments, garnishments, payroll deductions, and recording site-specific bonuses.
- Issue pay statements to employees promptly.
- Calculate and reconcile federal statutory deductions.
- Submit provincial and territorial statutory remittances within required timelines.
- Assist employees by addressing payroll inquiries and providing training on the electronic timesheet system.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Health and Safety
- Adhere strictly to all company health and safety policies and regulations.
- Identify and report any potential hazards or safety breaches to the Health and Safety Department immediately.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a Diploma in Business Administration or a Payroll Certificate.
- Holding a National Payroll Institute designation is viewed favorably.
- At least two years of payroll experience within a corporate environment is required.
- Basic understanding of financial accounting, especially related to payroll systems integration.
- Experience with JD Edwards Oracle software and background in the mining sector are advantageous but not mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits
