Job description

Role Overview

As a Payroll Accountant at SymBio in Mainz, you will independently manage the monthly payroll processing for employees using DATEV, ensuring compliance with current income tax and social security regulations. Your responsibilities include communication with health insurance funds and pension institutions, handling special administrative tasks such as assignment requests and insurance contract management, maintaining master data, and preparing Excel-based reports. You will also support payroll and social security audits as well as collaborate closely with the HR department during daily operations and absences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently manage and take full responsibility for the monthly payroll and salary accounting for employees via DATEV.
  • Ensure strict adherence to up-to-date income tax and social security legislation.
  • Reliably prepare all mandatory notifications for health insurers, pension agencies, and professional associations.
  • Handle special topics including processing assignment requests and managing insurance contracts, maintain accurate master data, and create Excel-based evaluations.
  • Support payroll and social security audits competently.
  • Collaborate with the HR department to cover daily operations and provide backup during absences.

Candidate Profile

  • Completed professional training in taxation, commercial education, or an equivalent qualification in HR, such as personnel clerk certification.
  • Relevant practical experience in independently and comprehensively handling payroll accounting.
  • In-depth and current knowledge of payroll tax and social security laws with proficiency in DATEV and standard MS Office applications.
  • Highly organized, meticulous, and autonomous work style with the ability to stay calm in demanding situations and work reliably as part of a team.
