Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Pavement Marker / Roadmarking Operator for our Roadmarking team in the Upper South Island. This position goes beyond simply applying paint; it plays a vital part in enhancing road safety and supporting essential infrastructure projects by providing top-quality roadmarking services.
Situated in Christchurch, Nelson, or Blenheim, the role involves handling specialized roadmarking machinery, executing both maintenance and new roadmarking jobs, while upholding outstanding safety, quality, and performance principles.
Key Duties
- Efficiently and safely operate Type A and Type B roadmarking equipment
- Complete roadmarking maintenance and new work assignments to high standards
- Conduct thorough pre-start inspections and maintain equipment condition
- Assist with scheduling and coordination of plant maintenance and repairs
- Collaborate with crew members to meet project deadlines and production goals
- Adhere rigorously to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Promote a positive and accountable team culture focused on safety and ongoing improvement
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Valid Full Class 2 Driver Licence
- At least two years’ experience with roadmarking operations involving Type A and/or Type B equipment
- In-depth understanding of roadmarking methods, machinery, and industry regulations
- Proactive approach with a strong focus on safety
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and maintain productivity under pressure
- Meticulous attention to detail with a dedication to quality workmanship
- Flexibility to travel between multiple project sites as needed
Desirable Attributes
- Level 1 STMS / CAT AB accreditation
- NZQA Roadmarking Operational Certification
- Experience in completing both maintenance and new roadmarking contracts
