Role Overview

This dual role combines overnight kitchen sanitation duties and van driving responsibilities. Ideal for those interested in starting or developing a career in the Food & Beverage sector, this position offers shift schedules primarily overnight and focuses on maintaining cleanliness and supporting logistics operations within the resort.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough overnight cleaning of kitchen facilities, including equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, ventilation systems, walls, ceilings, and other difficult-to-reach areas.
• Sanitize and maintain all kitchen work surfaces, sinks, stainless steel areas, and floors through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, polishing, and buffing.
• Uphold a safe environment by ensuring floors are dry and clean, promptly removing waste, oil, and recycling materials, and addressing any safety risks.
• Monitor and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment inventory, restocking as needed, and reporting any maintenance issues.
• Perform additional deep-cleaning tasks as assigned to support kitchen operational standards.
• Provide van driving services including the safe transportation of food, beverages, equipment, and supplies among various hotel venues and off-site facilities such as Waldhaus, Clubhouse, Bowling Centre, Convention Centre, Exshaw, and Banff dump locations.
• Facilitate timely special deliveries and coordination between departments to enhance guest services.
• Oversee maintenance of vehicles and loading areas, conducting daily inspections, reporting damages, and keeping loading docks clean and organized.
• Manage waste and recycling processes in compliance with hotel policies and local regulations.
• Adhere to Fairmont standards on grooming, hygiene, food safety, and cultural practices, participate in health and safety programs, and report operational concerns to management.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 driver's license with confidence in operating a 3-ton truck under tight conditions.
• Current driver’s abstract available before starting employment.
• Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certification.
• Ability to operate industrial kitchen and waste management machinery safely including cardboard bailer, manual pallet jack, hydraulic lifts, and vehicle lift gates.
• Strong organizational skills with a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Proactive individual capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent time management abilities to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting wage of $21.20 per hour with structured increases after six months, annually up to three years, progressing to $25.61 per hour at three years.
