About the Role
The Operations Manager at Baraya Extended Care is charged with overseeing the non-clinical support services critical to delivering excellent patient care. This encompasses managing facilities, housekeeping, food services, laundry, transportation, and supply chain functions. The position focuses on ensuring these services operate efficiently, safely, comply with regulations, and remain cost-effective while fostering a supportive environment for clinical teams, patients, and staff.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate non-clinical operations to maintain safe, clean, and patient-focused healthcare delivery.
- Plan, organize, and manage budgets, staffing, procurement, and vendor relations across support service departments.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, infection control, sanitation, and environmental standards.
- Directly supervise managers in housekeeping, dietary, environmental services, transportation, and facilities maintenance.
- Drive quality improvements, service excellence, and compliance with accreditation and regulatory inspections.
- Collaborate with clinical leadership to align support services with patient care pathways and throughput.
- Manage equipment maintenance, asset inventory, energy utilization, sustainability efforts, and waste management programs.
- Lead emergency preparedness, risk management, and continuity planning for support services.
- Use process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma to enhance operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of progressive management experience in healthcare support services, including facilities, environmental services, food service, or materials management.
- Proven track record in budgeting, contract and vendor management, and regulatory compliance within health and safety frameworks.
- Experience leading diverse teams and coordinating cross-functional operational activities.
- Proficiency in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
Key Skills and Knowledge Areas
- Operational leadership and process optimization techniques.
- Financial management, including budgeting, cost control, and cost-benefit analysis.
- Expertise in infection prevention, sanitation, safety, waste management, and environmental services.
- Facilities and asset management, including maintenance and equipment oversight.
- Quality improvement, incident reporting, and familiarity with Joint Commission or equivalent accreditation standards.
- Communication, interpersonal skills, and conflict resolution.
- Project and change management, including vendor relationship handling.
- Competence with enterprise asset management and inventory control software, alongside basic IT skills.
