Job description
Role Overview
As an Operations Coordinator at Move One based in Communauté urbaine de Douala, Littoral, Cameroon, you will play a crucial role in managing logistics operations encompassing air, sea, and land shipments for imports and exports. This position involves close monitoring of project KPIs, daily scheduling of pickups and deliveries, and ensuring efficient routing using the company's preferred vendors and rates.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the handling of shipments via air, sea, and land for both import and export flows.
- Track project performance indicators to ensure target achievement.
- Plan and schedule daily pickups and deliveries for assigned tasks.
- Apply the company’s approved vendor list and rate frameworks to select the most cost-efficient and effective shipment routes.
- Arrange timely collection and delivery through proactive communication with senders and receivers.
- Understand customer demands and maintain consistent operational quality and service standards.
- Maintain ongoing updates with customers regarding shipments, delays, or extra costs.
- Review daily active jobs and quotes to discover chances for upselling or additional charges to improve profitability.
- Coordinate continuously with other Move One offices to ensure accurate and immediate transmission of documents and shipment data.
- Generate and provide precise daily reports to management.
- Update shipment statuses and expenses in the internal Move One database adhering to standard operating procedures.
- Assist in additional tasks or projects delegated by the supervisor to align with changing business requirements.
- Focus on reducing operational expenses, improving operational efficiency, and maximizing profitability.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in logistics operations is required.
- A university degree is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook; familiarity with Open Office is advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written skills in English and French.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and commit to extended working hours when needed.
- Strong organizational capabilities and a commitment to excellent customer service.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Keen awareness of opportunities to enhance processes.
- Experience managing global shipments is highly desired.
