The Role / Te Mahi

We seek a seasoned full-time Occupational Therapist to join our Integrated Services Team. The role focuses on students aged 5 to 21 and is based at our Auckland Campus in Kelston. You will also support students and families in our Auckland (Kelston and Ormiston), Wellington, and Christchurch Deaf provisions, including residential services. Travel to Wellington and Christchurch sites will be required approximately once per school term.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote the wellbeing of our ākonga and their whānau
• Uphold the organisation's values and comply with legal and policy requirements
• Collaborate with families, schools, and other agencies to facilitate children's and young people's participation in the New Zealand curriculum
• Advocate effectively for student needs
• Customize equipment and adapt school environments to meet student requirements
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records
• Work cooperatively with staff across the organisation to optimise student outcomes

Candidate Requirements

• Registered Occupational Therapist with validated paediatric experience
• Current abilities or a strong willingness to develop skills in New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) and Deaf culture
• Passion for supporting student learning, achievement, and success
• Familiarity with the New Zealand education system
• Strong communication and diplomatic skills
• Alignment with our organisational values
• Respectful and positive engagement with all students and colleagues
• Possession of a clean, full driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed)
