About the Role
Fota Island Resort is seeking a dedicated Night Supervisor to join our night shift team. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in guest-oriented environments during overnight hours. The Night Supervisor will play a vital role in ensuring seamless hotel operations throughout the night, providing top-tier guest service while assisting with front office, concierge, and overall hotel management duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a friendly, professional, and welcoming atmosphere to all guests during night hours.
- Support efficient hotel functioning overnight and assist the Night Manager with supervising operations.
- Handle Front Office tasks including handling guest check-ins and check-outs, addressing room-related inquiries, telephone requests, and guest needs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the hotel’s facilities, services, events, and daily activities to inform guests accurately.
- Conduct routine inspections of the hotel premises, including public and accommodation areas, to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are upheld.
- Keep all public spaces, entrances, meeting rooms, and guest areas clean, tidy, and inviting.
- Carry out nightly Front Office checklists, generate reports, and manage handovers.
- Assist with night audit requirements and ensure relevant documentation is properly completed and circulated.
- Support concierge tasks such as luggage assistance, guest requests, room delivery, and transportation arrangements.
- Help prepare and arrange meeting rooms and function spaces for the upcoming day.
- Provide assistance with room service preparation and delivery when necessary.
- Offer support at the Residents' Bar and Food & Beverage outlets as needed.
- Maintain clear communication with Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and other departments to guarantee cohesive guest experiences.
- Stay fully informed of daily hotel operations, including occupancy levels, arrivals, departures, events, and handover notes.
- Exemplify a warm, approachable demeanor to guests and foster a team-oriented environment across departments.
- Adhere strictly to all hotel standard operating procedures, policies, and maintain consistently high service standards.
- Perform additional reasonable tasks to guarantee smooth night operations of the hotel.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of a full, clean driver's license.
- Experience with hotel operating systems like Opera and Micros is preferable.
- Background in hospitality, particularly within 4 or 5-star hotel settings, is advantageous.
- Prior experience in Front Office, concierge, or similar customer service roles in hotels.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with interpersonal confidence.
- Strong passion for providing outstanding guest service.
- Ability to remain calm, organized, and professional, especially during high-pressure periods.
- Keen attention to detail and effective prioritization of responsibilities.
- Confidence managing guest inquiries, requests, and complaints tactfully.
- Capacity to work independently while cooperating effectively with the Night Team.
- Good understanding of hotel operational procedures and guest service standards.
- Willingness to work night shifts on a seven-day rotating roster.
