Overview
Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a skilled Network Co-ordinator to become an integral part of the Network Management Team. This role involves managing and coordinating highway network activities such as assessing permits and traffic management applications pursuant to relevant legislation including the New Roads & Street Works Act 1991, the Traffic Management Act 2004, and the Council's Permit Scheme. Additionally, the post involves evaluating licensing requests under the Highways Act 1980 for items like skips, scaffolds, and hoardings occupying the highway, alongside conducting borough-wide site inspections to monitor work occupancy on the network.
Core Duties
- Coordinate and manage highway network permits and traffic management applications in compliance with regulations.
- Assess licence applications related to highway use, including those for skips, scaffolding, and hoardings.
- Conduct comprehensive site inspections throughout the borough to oversee and monitor occupation and maintenance activities on the highway network.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Strong understanding of highway maintenance laws, procedures, and technical approaches.
- Possession of or willingness to acquire NRSWA Supervisors Accreditation.
- Proven experience collaborating with customers, clients, and partner organisations.
- Valid full driving licence is mandatory.
Additional Information
- This is a full-time position requiring 37 hours per week with a salary ranging from 31,537 to 34,434.
- Workplace attendance is required at least three days per week at the office on a pro-rated basis.
