About the Role and Employer

We are seeking a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician to join a leading global engineering and manufacturing company renowned for quality and innovation, operating with over 20 sites worldwide and employing more than 1000 personnel. This position is located near Huddersfield, with easy access for candidates commuting from Leeds, Dewsbury, Halifax, Wakefield, and Brighouse.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform various inspection methods such as Visual Inspection (VI), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), and Nital Etch inspection (NE) on forgings, machine parts, and weldments.
  • Interpret inspection data, identify defects, assess according to standards, and document results following prescribed procedures.
  • Initiate non-conformance reports adhering to the organization’s non-conformance management process.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts related to machining, welding, heat treatment, or metallurgical issues on the shop floor.

Candidate Qualifications and Experience

  • Possession of PCN Level 2 certification for Visual, MPI, DPI, and UT focused on forgings.
  • Proven experience in preparing comprehensive reports detailing inspection findings, identifying defects, and understanding specifications and standards.
  • Training and practical knowledge in manual handling.
  • Certified Internal Auditor trained on ISO 9001:2015 standards.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Basic salary ranging from £39,604 to £46,732.72 including shift differentials.
  • Work schedule: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with rotating morning and afternoon shifts.
  • Annual leave entitlement of 25 days plus bank holidays.
  • Company pension contributions up to 8%.
