Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior MongoDB Performance Engineer with extensive expertise in MongoDB database administration and optimization, offering more than 5 years of experience. The position is available at multiple locations including Bangalore, Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar, Noida, Gurgaon, Pune, and Kochi.
Key Responsibilities and Skills
- Proficient in MongoDB technologies and its ecosystem.
- Expertise in performance tuning and optimization of databases.
- In-depth knowledge of the aggregation framework, indexing methods, and understanding of read/write and read-concern semantics.
- Experienced in using explain plans and profiler tools for query optimization.
- Strong understanding of WiredTiger storage engine internals, including cache management, eviction policies, checkpoints, journaling, compression, and document-level concurrency.
- Skilled in handling replication and sharding at scale, with deep insight into shard-key design considerations.
- Proficient scripting skills in Python for automation workflows.
- Capability to tune clusters, optimize queries, indexes, and design schemas effectively.
- Experience in designing shard keys and sharding strategies, including plans for resharding and zone configurations.
- Operational knowledge of monitoring and managing existing sharded clusters, running balancer processes, and resolving hot chunk issues.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes operators for stateful MongoDB deployments and infrastructure automation using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
