Role Overview

We are seeking a Midwife Manager to lead and coordinate midwifery and maternity services on a full-time basis at our Kumasi facility. The successful candidate will oversee all daily operations within the maternity unit, including staff scheduling, supervising personnel, and supporting safe and respectful patient care. Clinical oversight spans antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, lactation counseling, and newborn management while enforcing clinical guidelines and compliance with regulatory policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily patient flow and resources in the maternity ward.
• Provide clinical leadership during multidisciplinary rounds and complex case escalation.
• Monitor accurate clinical documentation and reports.
• Mentor midwives and nurses, organize ongoing training programs.
• Lead quality improvement projects.
• Collaborate with physicians and senior management to enhance maternal and neonatal health outcomes.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Extensive clinical experience in midwifery with expertise across antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care.
• Knowledge in nursing and general maternal/newborn medical practices.
• Skills in lactation support, breastfeeding counseling, and patient education post-delivery.
• Proven leadership and supervisory experience within clinical environments.
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to manage conflicts effectively.
• Professional registration and licensure in midwifery or nurse-midwifery as per local guidelines.
• Several years of maternity or midwifery practice, including experience in senior roles.
• Flexibility to work varied hours including weekends and evenings to meet patient care demands.
• Dedicated to maintaining patient safety, confidentiality, and culturally aware care.
