Job description

Position Overview and General Responsibilities

The Middle School Robotics and Coding Teacher will foster a welcoming and purposeful learning environment in the Middle School, nurturing students' belonging and well-being—emotionally, physically, and intellectually—both within classrooms and advisory settings. The role includes facilitating restorative conversations to support positive student behavior. Educators will use a standards-based planning framework to identify essential learning objectives and design culturally responsive curricula aligned with real-world issues.

Teachers will craft engaging, collaborative, and inquiry-driven lessons that are differentiated to meet diverse student needs. They will develop a variety of assessments, including formative, summative, and self-guided types, to provide ongoing feedback on student progress. Participation in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) for curriculum planning, feedback exchange, and professional development is integral, along with active engagement in reflection and growth through observation cycles with principals and coaches.

The role includes designing inquiry-based learning both inside and outside the classroom to encourage student questioning, investigation, creation, and reflection. There is also an emphasis on interdisciplinary teaching and integrating technology innovatively to enhance learning experiences. Beyond classroom instruction, the teacher will lead extracurricular activities such as coaching, field trips, clubs, community service, and possibly international travel, while remaining accessible to students and parents during and outside school hours.
