Job Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Security Consultant with expertise in Microsoft Purview to join our team remotely within Australia. This role involves acting as a trusted advisor for clients, employing deep knowledge of Microsoft Purview to implement data governance, compliance, and data management solutions that create value.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business and information security teams to design Microsoft Purview Information Protection and DLP solutions, ensuring alignment with business demands and technical needs.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on Microsoft Purview technologies, offering expert guidance and developing target solution designs.
- Lead the design and implementation of Microsoft Purview solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and adherence to Australia's compliance and data governance regulations.
- Create solutions addressing DLP, data classification, compliance, and information rights management through Microsoft Purview Information Protection and related tools.
- Conduct technical presentations to business leaders, raising awareness about Data Security and Microsoft Purview's compliance capabilities.
- Resolve complex customer inquiries involving integrations, security considerations, and compliance factors.
- Develop comprehensive technical documentation, diagrams, and presentations to clearly communicate solutions and benefits.
- Participate in or lead workshops and training to enhance team skills related to Purview and affiliated technologies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, new Microsoft Purview features, and innovations to bolster the company's position as a leader in data security and compliance.
Qualifications and Skills
- 6 to 8 years of practical experience designing and deploying data security initiatives, especially with Microsoft Purview Information Protection, focusing on compliance, cloud, and data security.
- In-depth understanding of Microsoft Azure services and architecture centered on data security and compliance.
- Knowledgeable in data governance concepts including data discovery, classification, lineage, privacy, and retention policies.
- Familiarity with Australian data security standards such as APP, Essential 8, HIPAA, and applying Microsoft Purview to enforce these compliance requirements.
- Experience with integrating Microsoft Purview alongside other solutions and cloud security architectures.
- Good communication skills to clearly explain technical concepts to varied audiences.
- Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving aptitude to design innovative client-focused solutions.
- A collaborative team player capable of working independently and with cross-functional teams such as presales, delivery, and engineering.
- Customer-centric approach aimed at nurturing strong professional relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Certifications
- Required: Microsoft Certified Information Protection Administrator (SC-401) or Microsoft Cyber Security Architect (SC-100).
- Valuable additions: CISSP, CCSK, CCSP, CISM, Identity Access Administrator Associate (SC-300), Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500), Microsoft 365 Security Administration (MS-500).
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in IT or Cyber Security.
