Microsoft Dynamics 365 Consultant

Overview

We are hiring a skilled Microsoft Dynamics 365 Technical Consultant to architect, develop, and maintain solutions within Dynamics 365 Field Service and/or Finance & Operations (F&O). This role blends hands-on configuration, development, and system integration with technical leadership on implementation and support initiatives. The consultant will transform business needs into robust, scalable Dynamics 365 architectures. Candidates may focus on a single platform (Field Service or F&O) or have expertise across both.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build tailored solutions in Dynamics 365 Field Service and/or Finance & Operations following business requirements and Microsoft standards.
• Create and sustain integrations between Dynamics 365 and various third-party or internal applications, utilizing APIs, Azure Integration Services, Data Export Service, and Dataverse connectors.
• Develop custom components such as plugins, workflows, Power Automate flows, JavaScript/TypeScript web resources, PowerApps Component Framework (PCF) controls for Field Service or Power Platform, and X++ extensions, services, batch jobs for F&O.
• Handle data migration, modeling, and extract-transform-load (ETL) processes using tools like the Data Management Framework for F&O or Dataverse import/export options.
• Engage in solution architecture discussions, review technical designs, and assist in estimating project efforts.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across development, testing, user acceptance, and production environments.
• Oversee code reviews and uphold Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and DevOps best practices, including Azure DevOps pipelines, source control, and solution packaging.
• Work collaboratively with functional consultants, business analysts, and project stakeholders to translate requirements into detailed technical designs.
• Manage environment configurations, security role assignments, and optimize system performance.
• Document technical processes thoroughly, including design specifications, data dictionaries, and deployment guidelines.
• Provide ongoing support after go-live, handling incident resolution and recommending continuous improvements.

Expertise Required

• At least 5 to 7 years of practical experience delivering Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse.
• Proficiency with Azure DevOps tools for source control, continuous integration/deployment, and managing work items.
• Strong understanding of solution architecture principles, security frameworks, and integration methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills for engaging with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

Field Service Specialisation (optional)

• Ability to configure work orders, optimize resource scheduling with RSO, manage scheduling boards, and set up Field Service Mobile app.
• Experience integrating Internet of Things (IoT), connected field services, and asset management solutions.
• Development skills in C# for Dataverse plugins, creating Power Automate flows, and PowerApps Component Framework components.
• Familiarity with key Field Service concepts like bookable resources, work order and incident types, as well as agreement management.

Finance & Operations Specialisation (optional)

• Proficient in X++ programming for extensions and customizations within the F&O framework.
• Experienced in Data Management Framework, Business Events, and recurring integration approaches.
• Knowledgeable about core modules such as Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, or Manufacturing.
• Acquainted with Lifecycle Services (LCS), environment setups, and deployable package management.
• Understanding of Application Object Tree (AOT), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and Electronic Reporting (ER) framework.
