Job description
Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Estimator with over eight years of experience in quantity surveying and cost estimation, primarily focused on extensive infrastructure and civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in pre-contract cost planning, preparing Bills of Quantities (BoQ), and crafting procurement strategies. Proficiency in CESSM and established industry estimation methodologies is essential to produce precise cost forecasts, conduct risk evaluations, apply value engineering principles, and prepare tender documentation. The role emphasizes strong collaboration with multidisciplinary project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Steer the creation of pre-contract cost estimates, cost plans, and benchmarks for major infrastructure projects.
- Formulate and oversee Bills of Quantities and pre-tender estimates adhering to CESSM and relevant industry standards.
- Assist in developing procurement approaches encompassing packaging, tendering, and contract establishment.
- Work closely with diverse project teams to ensure cost objectives align with design goals.
- Compose and assess tender documents, including pricing schedules and contractual provisions.
- Conduct market research and engage supply chain partners to inform accurate cost data and procurement planning.
- Provide support in risk assessment, value management, and cost control activities.
- Contribute to identifying, analyzing, and preparing responses to commercial risks.
- Represent the organization in commercial meetings as needed.
Candidate Profile
- At least eight years of relevant estimating experience with a minimum of three years within the Middle East region.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation capabilities.
- Demonstrated strong project experience and proficient technical writing skills in English.
- Robust background in pre-contract quantity surveying for infrastructure and civil engineering projects, preferably with experience on large international events like expos, sports, or cultural festivals.
- Adept at working efficiently in fast-paced, client-facing settings.
