MEP Electrical Engineer

Job Summary

This urgent job opportunity is open for candidates across India to join as MEP Electrical Engineers. The role involves comprehensive design, supervision, and coordination of electrical systems within building projects, ensuring compliance with technical standards, safety, and project specifications.

Core Responsibilities

• Design and validate electrical installations such as LV/MV power distribution, lighting, emergency power systems, and earthing networks.
• Create and review detailed electrical documentation including single-line diagrams, load and cable schedules, layouts, and shop drawings.
• Collaborate closely with other disciplines including mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, fire fighting, architectural, and structural teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Supervise on-site electrical installations to confirm adherence to approved designs and quality standards.
• Inspect the setup of cables, cable trays, conduits, distribution boards, panels, transformers, generators, UPS systems, lighting, and earthing frameworks.
• Evaluate technical submittals, method statements, and material quality for compliance with specifications and industry codes.
• Oversee material inspections and workmanship, ensuring safety practices such as proper PPE use and Lockout/Tagout procedures are maintained.
• Track project progress, coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to promptly address site challenges.
• Conduct tests and witness the commissioning process of electrical systems to confirm operational effectiveness.
• Prepare and verify inspection requests, test reports, snagging documentation, and commissioning paperwork.
• Verify quantities, measurements, and billing items related to electrical work in Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
• Participate in site meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors for smooth communication and problem resolution.
• Identify and resolve design conflicts, leveraging tools such as BIM, Revit, and AutoCAD when applicable.
• Ensure all electrical work aligns with IEC, BS, NEC standards, local regulations, and project requirements.
• Review as-built drawings and operations & maintenance documentation prior to project handover.
