The Mechanical Fitter position at SGS Valve Services in Immingham offers a hands-on engineering opportunity focused on the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of industrial valves utilized by diverse industries. The role involves both workshop and onsite duties, allowing for skill advancement while collaborating with a skilled global team.

Key Responsibilities

• Performing maintenance, repair, and overhaul tasks on industrial valves.
• Assisting with testing, inspection, and certification processes.

Candidate Profile

The role is open to applicants with engineering experience from fields such as manufacturing, maintenance, heavy industry, plant operations, oil & gas, utilities, or power generation.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Valid full UK driving license.
• Background in mechanical fitting, maintenance, assembly, manufacturing, or engineering.
• Certification for operating forklift trucks.

Preferred Attributes

• Formal apprenticeship training as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent practical experience.
• NVQ Level 2 or similar engineering qualification.
• Possession of a Safety Passport.
• Experience with valves, pumps, rotating equipment, pressure systems, or industrial maintenance tasks.
