Position Overview

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain the meat department in a clean, orderly, and well-arranged state ensuring readiness for customers at all times, including rotating stock and discarding expired or unsuitable items.
• Ensure accurate pricing and signage of merchandise by following specified procedures for ordering, clearances, adjustments, labeling, and flagging products.
• Strictly comply with food safety and cold chain protocols, including regular temperature monitoring, proper food handling, product rotation, and adherence to sell-by and expiration dates.
• Carry out preparation and service of deli products such as meats, cheese, and fried chicken by safely operating slicers, stackers, ovens, fryers, and other equipment to fill displays and fulfill special customer requests.
• Adhere to all health and safety policies to sustain a safe, hygienic, and clean working environment.
• Demonstrate adaptability by working varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required to support the store’s operations and ensure consistent high-quality customer service.

Challenges Associated with the Role

• Manage a high volume of tasks in a fast-moving environment, planning effectively to maintain energy and focus especially during overnight shifts.
• Efficiently complete heavy workloads like restocking and recovery with precision and timeliness.
• Endure physically demanding activities such as extended standing periods, frequent bending, and lifting supplies or equipment averaging 20 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Conduct repetitive tasks such as zoning and organizing products consistently to uphold store standards.
