Job Overview

The Material Agreement Specialist will be responsible for preparing and managing contracts, overseeing tendering processes, executing and administering material agreements to ensure compliance and proper corporate governance. The role focuses on delivering optimal material purchasing solutions that align with end-user needs at the best possible cost.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and meet annual goals aligned with department and company-wide strategic objectives, including tracking key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Manage procurement agreement processes such as Invitations to Tender (ITT), thorough evaluations, and contract awards to uphold corporate controls while mitigating risks.
  • Lead the tendering process for material agreements ensuring the delivery of services that meet end-user material availability expectations.
  • Administer contracts to guarantee timely supplier material deliveries and ensure terms comply with the company’s interests.
  • Coordinate internally with expediting teams and externally with suppliers, packers, and freight handlers to maintain on-schedule material availability aligned with user demands.
  • Analyze historical material demands, spending patterns, and purchasing trends to recommend effective buying strategies that optimize costs and satisfy end-user requirements.
  • Evaluate current processes for improvement opportunities aimed at enhancing service quality to stakeholders and end users.
  • Assess supplier performance and utilize market intelligence on commodity trends to devise superior negotiation strategies for cost-effective, quality materials.
  • Prepare documentation and participate in peer reviews, audits, Table of Financial Authority (TOFA) evaluations to maintain effective controls and address any identified deficiencies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management, or a commercial field.
  • A minimum of 8 years' direct procurement or purchasing experience within the oil and gas industry.
