Position Overview

The Marker Maker is tasked with designing and distributing markers using the Gerber Accumark system to maximize material efficiency. Markers are designed according to specific purchase orders and tailored to meet the standards of individual vendors' cutting rooms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and update sample and production markers leveraging the Gerber Accumark software.
  • Optimize material usage by creating markers that honor pattern integrity and fabric quality constraints.
  • Prepare and plot electronic marker files for vendors and purchase orders in alignment with the Marker Production Schedule.
  • Compute yield estimates to assist with costing and material procurement, documenting resulting savings.
  • Oversee plotter maintenance and monitor their usage.

Candidate Profile

  • Holds a college degree or diploma in apparel design and manufacturing.
  • Possesses 2-3 years of marker making experience.
  • Proficient with Gerber Accumark; familiarity with other CAD systems is advantageous.
  • Experience working with cutting rooms and knowledge of both automatic and manual cutting processes.
  • Mandatory knowledge in pattern making and sewing.
  • Experience with outerwear garments is a plus.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates team collaboration and multitasking abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to foster cross-business relationships.

Salary Details

The annual salary ranges between 46000 and 64000 CAD, reflecting role responsibilities, market standards, and internal equity. The exact offer depends on individual experience and skills.
