Job Overview

The Manager – Medical Administration role entails managing clinical administrative functions to ensure seamless collaboration among consultants, resident medical officers (RMOs), nursing teams, administration, and other departments. This role necessitates a medical professional with formal training in hospital management to efficiently integrate clinical services with hospital administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily clinical administrative operations.
  • Liaise with consultants, RMOs, nursing staff, and department heads to coordinate efforts.
  • Track consultant schedules including rounds, outpatient and inpatient services, and emergency coverage.
  • Ensure proper assignment and availability of RMO and medical staff.
  • Supervise ICU, wards, operating theatres, emergency rooms, and other clinical areas.
  • Maintain adherence to hospital standard operating procedures and clinical guidelines.
  • Manage clinical documentation such as case files, consent forms, OT notes, discharge summaries, and medical records.
  • Support adherence to NABH accreditation standards.
  • Contribute to clinical audits, morbidity and mortality reviews, and initiatives to improve quality.
  • Handle patient complaints related to clinical service issues.
  • Assist with medico-legal documentation and reporting clinical incidents.
  • Engage in infection control measures within the hospital.
  • Arrange for emergency consultant coverage as necessary.
  • Monitor patient flow and resolve operational challenges.
  • Assist recruitment processes including technical interviews for RMOs and medical staff.
  • Prepare and submit periodic medical administration reports to senior leadership.
  • Implement directives issued by Hospital and Group Management.

Qualifications

  • Mandatory degrees: BAMS, BHMS, or BDS.
  • Postgraduate degree such as MBA in Hospital Management, Hospital Administration, or Healthcare Management.
  • Registration with the appropriate professional council is required.

Experience

Candidates should have 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in medical administration or hospital operations preferably in multi-speciality or super-speciality hospitals.
