About the Role

Based in Bulolo, Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea, this opportunity invites a seasoned Manager to lead the Kit Division within a reputed engineered wood products manufacturer. The role centers around supervision of transportable buildings, prefabricated kits, bridge decks, and diverse timber-based construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of 60, ensuring projects meet quality and timeline requirements.
  • Analyze and interpret technical drawings, detailed specifications, and Bills of Quantities for accurate production planning.
  • Manage the end-to-end manufacturing process of kit-set and transportable building components.
  • Oversee inventory management, material sourcing, and logistics associated with finished goods.
  • Supervise operation of woodworking machinery including Docking Saws, Double End Tenoners, Scarfing Equipment, and RF Presses.
  • Ensure workplace safety and operational efficiency in compliance with company policies.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to workshop personnel including skilled tradespeople and apprentices.

Candidate Profile

  • Holds a Certificate III in Carpentry and Joinery or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
  • Minimum five years' experience in a Carpentry/Joinery Foreman or comparable supervisory capacity.
  • Proven skills in team leadership and managing workshop operations successfully.
  • Competent in interpreting complex technical drawings and juggling multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong familiarity with woodworking machinery and related manufacturing workflows.
  • Experienced in implementing quality control measures and enhancing team productivity.
