Environmental Sustainability Division

This division shapes Singapore's transition towards a low-carbon economy and positions environmental sustainability as a vital growth driver. It devises and implements national strategies aimed at enhancing Singapore's competitiveness within the energy, chemicals, and materials sectors, while identifying new green growth prospects across established and emerging industries. The division cooperates closely with various EDB units and external government and industry stakeholders to conduct research, analysis, and develop solutions.

Role Overview

As an individual contributor reporting to the Vice President / Assistant Vice President, you will play an integral role in advancing Singapore's Green Growth sectors, including agrifood, industrial water, renewable energy services, and climate-related industries. Your responsibilities include:

• Conducting strategic reviews and in-depth studies to position Singapore advantageously within emerging sectors by analyzing global trends, new technologies, and business models, with a focus on opportunities like precision fermentation and climate intelligence.
• Managing relationships with key agrifood companies by understanding their strategies and investment plans, facilitating their expansions and new investments in Singapore through coordination with EDB teams and government agencies to overcome barriers.
• Collaborating with internal teams and external partners across government and industry to design, develop, and implement compelling value propositions that attract and sustain Green Growth economic activities, ensuring critical factors such as talent availability, R&D, supplier networks, customer access, and financing are addressed.

Candidate Profile

• Educational background preferably in Economics, Agri/Food Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related interdisciplinary fields.
• Between 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in strategy or business development and account management; project or business development expertise is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and capacity for independently managing programs.
• Exceptional analytical abilities, including problem solving and both critical and lateral thinking skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proven capability in stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
• Adept at collaborating across teams and handling multiple workstreams simultaneously to deliver efficient results.
• Self-driven, positive attitude, robust work ethic, and a cooperative team player.
• Must be a Singapore citizen.
