Job Summary

The Maintenance Worker reports to the Somerset Site Director and is accountable for preserving the cleanliness and good condition of the office premises and its related facilities. This role includes performing regular cleaning activities, utilizing various cleaning tools, and maintaining a safe, orderly environment. Additional duties may be assigned to support smooth site operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sweep, mop, wax, and polish floors to maintain cleanliness and appearance.
  • Dust and polish wood surfaces, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Clean windows and walls thoroughly.
  • Vacuum and spot-clean carpets and upholstery to remove dirt and stains.
  • Maintain and replenish restroom supplies and ensure hygiene standards are met.
  • Empty and clean trash containers regularly.
  • Collect and dispose of trash from surrounding grounds.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Possession of a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least two years of janitorial or cleaning experience is preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Attention to detail with a professional work approach.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of power tools and safe usage.
  • Self-motivated with an ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent organizational and task management abilities, including delegating responsibilities when suitable.
  • Capability to work independently with reliability.

Mandatory Clearances and Documentation

  • Valid driver's license and access to dependable transportation.
  • Completion of Act 31/Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training.
  • Clearances including Act 34 Pennsylvania State Police Background Check, Act 114 FBI Fingerprint, and Act 33 Pennsylvania Child Abuse History clearance.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand, bend, stretch, and reach for extended durations.
  • Capable of lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying objects weighing up to 100 pounds unassisted.

Work Schedule

  • Shift timings are in the afternoon and evening, five days weekly.
  • Shifts last between three to four hours, tailored to facility requirements.
