Job Overview
This role involves performing general maintenance and cleaning duties within guest rooms, public spaces, and hotel grounds that do not require specialized trade skills or technical knowledge.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out simple maintenance and thorough cleaning tasks to maintain guest rooms and common areas in excellent condition and repair.
- Assist with preventative maintenance checklists and complete minor repair orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, changing light bulbs, patching vinyl surfaces, unclogging toilets, and replacing faucet washers.
- Prepare work areas, carry tools, and support maintenance staff as needed.
- Clean and sweep exterior areas including parking lots and sidewalks.
- Trim, prune, and water lawns and plants; properly dispose of yard waste.
- Empty trash containers daily.
- Report unsafe conditions or malfunctioning equipment promptly to supervisors.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures rigorously.
- Maintain security and inventory control of supplies, tools, and equipment; replenish items efficiently and minimize waste.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest inquiries and requests to promote guest satisfaction.
- Foster teamwork and quality service through daily communication and collaboration with other hotel departments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Basic reading and writing proficiency.
- Capable of carrying, lifting, pushing, or pulling items weighing 100 to 300 pounds.
- Regularly stand and move throughout hotel buildings and grounds.
- Frequently handle various objects and equipment.
- Often bend, stoop, and kneel during tasks.
- Basic knowledge of simple maintenance tasks such as plunging toilets, changing bulbs, and faucet repairs.
- Familiarity with lawn and plant care equipment and tools.
- Use reading and writing skills to document work completed, order supplies, follow daily instructions, and consult equipment safety or repair manuals.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Compensation
The position offers an hourly wage of $17.75.
