About the Role
Danone Infant Nutrition's Macroom site is a key spray drying facility providing infant formula within its global supply network. The Maintenance Manager will oversee the upkeep of production machinery, plant infrastructure, and utilities in partnership with the Head of Maintenance. A key responsibility is leading and cultivating the Maintenance team to promote high performance, aligned with Danone's CODE values (Committed, Open, Doer, and Empowered), embedding these principles across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and nurture a skilled maintenance team, focusing on individual and functional growth.
- Maximize Performance Reliability while meeting strict quality requirements.
- Manage safety KPIs for both in-house staff and external contractors.
- Ensure preventative maintenance schedules adhere to the master plan.
- Control maintenance costs within the annual budget.
- Maintain accurate spare parts inventory and availability.
- Ensure process capability is managed across all manufacturing lines with strong process controls for stability.
- Oversee diverse maintenance activities—predictive, preventative, autonomous, and corrective—per schedules set by senior management.
- Collaborate on factory maintenance and energy budgets.
- Drive cost savings through root cause analysis, volume purchasing, and supplier sourcing.
- Plan maintenance to minimize machine downtime, monitor work orders, and optimize shutdowns.
- Effectively manage breakdown repairs, reporting, and spare parts optimization.
- Use maintenance KPIs to find efficiency and cost reduction opportunities.
- Participate in maintenance networks within the organization to exchange best practices.
- Lead energy management initiatives for daily operations and sustainable reductions in energy use and CO2 footprint.
- Facilitate continuous improvement via problem solving and PDCA methods.
- Analyze and report maintenance metrics to management and stakeholders.
- Promote team engagement, coaching, and alignment to company goals.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Minimum of four years managing a maintenance team in a high-volume, technologically advanced environment.
- Deep expertise in Maintenance Systems.
- Relevant engineering degree or recognized time-served apprenticeship.
- Experienced in Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques, including Practical Problem Solving.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills for processing key data.
- Proven ability in troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Capable of aligning maintenance activities with both short-term operations and medium-term strategy.
- Experience in coaching and mentoring for team skill development.
