About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer based in Chennai with 6 to 10 years of experience. The role requires working three days per week from the office. The candidate must have mandatory expertise in Cobol, DB2, CICS, JCL, and VSAM. Additionally, experience with MQ and Stored Procedures is advantageous. Familiarity with Git, IBM Developer for z Systems (IDZ), and Windsurf is considered a plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Cobol programs integrated with DB2, CICS, and VSAM to fulfill business requirements and improve operational processes.
- Analyze system needs to design effective solutions aligned with industry standards and best practices ensuring system reliability.
- Monitor mainframe system performance, identify issues promptly, and troubleshoot to ensure high availability and productivity.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-departmental teams to optimize DB2 database integration for improved data security and accessibility.
- Create and execute comprehensive test plans to confirm system functionality and smooth integration of components.
- Continuously seek process improvements to increase scalability, reduce operational costs, and support innovation within mainframe environments.
Requirements
- 6 to 10 years of hands-on experience with Cobol, DB2, CICS, VSAM, JCL.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Knowledge of MQ and Stored Procedures is preferred.
- Exposure to Git version control, IBM Developer for z Systems (IDZ), and Windsurf tools is a bonus.
Eligibility
Candidates must possess any graduate degree.

Bachelor's Degree
