Machinist - Drilling and Intervention (Evening Shift)

About the Role

This position requires working as a machinist under the guidance of the Lead Supervisor. The candidate will operate manual lathes and machining centers while applying comprehensive machine shop knowledge including theory, procedures, and material machinability. Key machinery includes Poreba and DSNG equipment. The role is scheduled for an evening shift commencing after 2 PM in Nisku, Alberta.

Primary Duties

• Set up and run lathes or machining centers to carry out machining tasks such as turning, milling, boring, facing, and threading.
• Perform repair work involving various thread types.
• Interpret engineering drawings to understand specifications and operational requirements.
• Clean machinery, tooling, and parts with occasional minor maintenance on machines.
• Ensure proper product identification and traceability by stamping or re-stamping control numbers when needed.
• Comply rigorously with safety regulations, quality standards, 5S workplace organization, and maintain cleanliness throughout the shop floor.

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience in setting up and operating CNC lathes and/or mills is essential.
• Trade certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Possession of Overhead Crane and Forklift certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with Poreba and DSNG machines is preferred.
• Capability to edit machining programs.
