About the Role
The Classroom Pte Ltd is seeking a dedicated Lower Secondary Science Teacher to join its team on a full-time basis at their Hougang Central location. This position primarily involves educating Secondary 1 and Secondary 2 Science students, managing roughly 9 to 10 classes with a maximum of 12 students per class. The work schedule includes four weekdays and one weekend day.
Preference will be given to candidates who can also teach Upper Secondary Pure Physics, which offers a chance for expanded responsibilities and an increased salary.

Established in 2009, The Classroom specializes in Secondary Maths and Science tuition and has instructed nearly 3,000 students to date. The company focuses on O-Level Chemistry and Additional Mathematics and aims to strengthen its Lower Secondary Science offerings. The team is small, so collaboration on teaching methodologies, resource development, and student outcomes is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver science lessons to Sec 1 and Sec 2 students.
- Design, update, and enhance educational materials such as worksheets, notes, practice problems, and assessments.
- Monitor and assess student progress continually.
- Engage with parents to discuss student development as needed.
- Contribute to curriculum development and resource improvement for Lower Secondary Science.
- Create and maintain a classroom environment that is structured, stimulating, and conducive to learning.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum two years of experience teaching Secondary Science.
- A bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong mastery of scientific subjects and concepts.
- Capability to communicate complex scientific ideas effectively to students.
- Confidence in interacting with students and their parents.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and teaching improvement.
Working Conditions

Compensation
Starting salary is from SGD 5,000 per month. Earnings may increase up to approximately SGD 6,000 monthly, depending on experience, teaching skills, and the ability to teach Upper Secondary Physics.
