Role Overview
The Logistics Officer plays a critical role in providing comprehensive logistic support and managing the entire logistic operations to meet the organization's goals. This position demands meticulous attention to detail to supervise daily logistical activities efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Choosing appropriate carriers and negotiating transport contracts and pricing.
- Planning and tracking both incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Investigating optimal shipping methods, routes, and carriers for efficiency.
- Liaising with various departments to seamlessly integrate logistics within company workflows.
- Assessing budgets and expenses related to logistics operations.
- Regularly updating and analyzing performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensuring compliance with legal regulations, guidelines, and ISO standards.
- Achieving cost savings by soliciting multiple quotes to enhance negotiation leverage.
- Maintaining prompt delivery schedules.
- Coordinating activities with approved company logistics forwarders.
- Collaborating across departments to maintain uninterrupted logistics flow.
- Developing effective strategies to maximize cost savings through optimized transport routes and methods.
- Supporting documentation processes including invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and shipment manifests.
- Reporting shipment statuses and addressing any logistics-related challenges.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience handling import/export operations involving land, sea, and air freight across the Middle East and Asia Pacific regions.
