These range from resilient mainframe and hybrid cloud platforms to networking and automation services, ensuring robust performance, security, and scalability across industries. The Infrastructure & Technology division emphasizes solving complex issues through curiosity and collaboration, working globally with diverse technologies and peers to create future-proof, innovative systems. IBM encourages ongoing learning, career advancement, and fosters a supportive environment that enables professionals to build expertise shaping the essential infrastructure driving progress.

Role Responsibilities

As a crucial member of a newly formed team, your contributions will shape outstanding software solutions. Your duties will include designing and specifying new feature enhancements, writing code, identifying and resolving bugs, analyzing performance metrics, submitting code to upstream open source repositories, and addressing client issues. The position requires on-site presence three days per week at the Waterford office.

Interest in active participation within open source development communities is essential. A solid grasp of operating system fundamentals—such as memory management, task scheduling, interrupts, and device drivers—is required. Experience working with source control systems like Git, scripting languages such as Python, and test automation tools like Jenkins is needed.

Preferred candidates will have prior contributions to open source projects. Familiarity with modern I/O technologies including PCI, NVMe, and RDMA is advantageous.
