About the Role

Belgravia Leisure is seeking passionate, dependable, and personable lifeguards to join the team at Dickson Aquatic Centre in ACT. As a lifeguard, you will oversee daily pool operations and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for all visitors. This role involves leadership and coaching responsibilities, emphasizing a strong commitment to water safety and customer service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day pool facility activities, ensuring safety and enjoyment for all patrons.
• Lead and support a team, promoting a positive and secure aquatic environment.
• Maintain vigilance and respond promptly to any safety concerns or emergencies.
• Communicate effectively with a diverse range of students and visitors across different ages, abilities, and cultural backgrounds.
• Work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, public holidays, and peak seasons, demonstrating reliability.

Requirements

• Excellent verbal communication abilities to interact confidently with patrons and team members.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety (OHS) and public safety standards specific to aquatic environments.
• Current First Aid Level 2 and CPR certification.
• Possession of a valid Pool Lifeguard Certificate and a National Police Check.
• Compliance with Working with Vulnerable People requirements.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience in a similar lifeguarding or pool operations role is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Holding a Pool Operations Certificate is beneficial but not essential.
