Lead / Senior Software Engineer - Zuora Billing Solutions

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Lead / Senior Software Engineer to design, implement, and fine-tune Zuora billing solutions. This role requires working closely with various stakeholders to achieve business goals in billing platform management.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate directly with clients to gather detailed requirements, architect solutions, and provide accurate effort estimations.
• Work alongside Business Operations, Finance teams, and Business Analysts to thoroughly understand and refine business needs.
• Design and improve workflows tailored to fulfill the organization's billing requirements.
• Lead and manage a small engineering team, overseeing deliverables and maintaining clear communication among all parties involved.
• Handle system development, testing, and deployment activities independently.
• Diagnose and promptly resolve production issues related to Zuora integrations and data flows.
• Execute performance optimization initiatives to maintain high system efficiency.
• Coordinate with DevOps teams to automate Zuora deployment pipelines and ensure seamless changes into production environments.
• Create and upkeep comprehensive technical documentation including design specs, test plans, and user manuals related to Zuora solutions.
• Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers with technical guidance.
• Provide ongoing support and training to end-users and stakeholders on Zuora operations and best practices.
• Engage in regular project meetings to report progress, discuss challenges, and propose solutions.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• 5 to 15 years of IT experience with a focus on billing platform implementation and enhancement.
• Thorough understanding of the Zuora platform, including administration, object models, and API functionalities.
• Expertise in creating and updating Zuora invoice templates, including payments, billing runs, document postings, and HTML templates.
• In-depth knowledge of Product Catalogs, Charge Models, and Subscription lifecycle management processes such as creation, update, renewal, and cancellation.
• Experience with Zuora's Order line-item functionality, including invoice-related line items.
• Capability with reconciliation tasks and troubleshooting during month-end activities, along with bulk operations (create/update/delete) on multiple objects.
• Proficient with developer tools like Postman for API testing and integration monitoring.
• Experience integrating Zuora with ecommerce platforms, payment gateways, data analytics, Salesforce systems, and tax services.
• Familiarity with Zuora Workflow for automating and enhancing business processes.
• Solid knowledge of administrative setups such as Roles, Permissions, and Billing Template configurations.
• Ability to address daily inquiries and provide analytical support to finance, development, QA, and business stakeholders.
• Up-to-date knowledge of Zuora product updates, industry trends, and best practices for optimal system management.
